What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small files or identifiers stored by a browser. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags, software development kits, and related tools that remember information or communicate information about how a website or digital service is used.
This Policy uses the word cookies broadly to include these technologies unless a distinction matters.
How Plan the Marriage uses these technologies
Strictly necessary, session, and security technologies
We use technologies needed for page delivery, login sessions, authentication, account security, fraud prevention, request integrity, preferences, and checkout continuity. Disabling these technologies may prevent account, enrollment, payment, or member features from working correctly.
Course and preference storage
Some course, assessment, or preview experiences may use browser local storage or session storage to remember answers, progress, the last lesson viewed, scores, or sharing settings. Other member course data may be stored server-side as described in the Privacy Policy. A feature may use both approaches for different purposes.
Analytics and performance
We may use analytics and performance technologies, including technologies provided by website analytics, hosting, or security providers, to understand traffic, diagnose errors, measure performance, and protect the Services. Where applicable law requires consent before a nonessential analytics technology is used, we will request that consent.
Advertising and marketing
We do not use private workbook content for targeted advertising. If we introduce advertising or cross-site marketing technologies, we will provide the notices, consent controls, and opt-out choices required by applicable law before using them where required.
Payment and third-party service technologies
When you use checkout or another integrated third-party service, Stripe or another disclosed provider may set or read technologies needed to process payment, prevent fraud, maintain security, or deliver that provider's service. Those providers may process information under their own privacy notices and our agreements with them.
Browser-local storage
When a Plan the Marriage feature expressly states that answers stay in your browser, that feature may use browser storage so the information is available on that device without intentionally uploading those particular answers to our servers.
Deleting browser data, using private browsing, switching browsers, or using another device may remove or make locally stored information unavailable. Browser storage used for a requested course or assessment function is functional storage, not an advertising cookie.
Your choices and browser controls
Most browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies and site storage. Blocking strictly necessary storage may cause parts of the Services to stop working.
Where applicable law requires a consent or preference control for nonessential technologies, we will provide that control and will honor withdrawals of consent prospectively.
Global Privacy Control and state opt-outs
Some state privacy laws allow consumers to communicate opt-out choices through a recognized universal opt-out mechanism. Where Plan the Marriage is legally required to recognize such a signal for a particular processing activity, we will honor supported signals, including qualifying Global Privacy Control signals, as required by law.
For additional state privacy rights, see our Privacy Policy.
How long cookies last
Session technologies generally expire when the browser session ends. Persistent technologies remain for a defined period or until deleted. Browser-local course or assessment information may remain until you reset the feature, clear browser storage, or the browser removes the data.
Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our technologies, vendors, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will show the latest revision.
